This is my piece for you today. You'll eventually become some individuals who surround you that's something I learned painfully costly way. Everybody features a story and so they all contain pros and cons choices through which we take pride in and decisions we regret making. This is often difficult remembrances that people must live, but ultimately, it comes down lower towards the lessons we could glean from them. We are all reflections of the people we keep in our lives and interact with on a daily basis. Their actions and behaviors all resonate and subconsciously influence our everyday choices. Associate with people who make you feel happy It's so crucial that you have those who satisfy you. Those who lead you to laugh and who enable you to whenever you require assistance - those who genuinely care. Individuals are the type who're worth keeping within your existence everyone else is just passing through. our surrounding atmosphere shapes who you are and who you will become. You're in general control of your existence as well as the products that you employ, why not filter the negative surroundings and place yourself in a positive and fascinating atmosphere, the one that suits your needs?
The most effective example is to look at most likely the very best figures nowadays. How come you think the elite make an effort to place themselves in environments full of like-minded individuals? Surprisingly, the very best and efficient people have weakness that is similar to yours. Surrounding themselves as well as other individuals, who're round the same path or who had been through similar journeys, enables them to educate to learn more about themselves. What’s stopping you? What is keeping you from living your dreams? What is preventing you from pursuing your passions? What obstacles are in the way of you being the person you want to be and doing what you want to do? The first step in problem solving is identifying the problem. When a person is not where the want to be in their life, or living their desired life, the root cause often comes back to the mindset. At some point in a person’s life, they must make a decision to either believe everything they desire is achievable, or settle for what is immediately obtainable. Those former passions become daydreams of a fanciful life that will never occur. There used to be a phrase used quite often in the business world, SOLVE FOR YES. Let’s not look at what stops you, but focus on what can motivate you, by solving every problem, issue or concern that has hindered you from living your life of purpose, on purpose by solving for YES! Yes it will be difficult, but it can be done! Yes it is scary, but you don’t have to make the journey alone! Yes, the trip is worth it, and YES I WILL BE WITH YOUR EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I don’t know much about the disco phenomenon other than it sparked numerous memorial songs, some interesting fashion choices and the undulating beat of chasing your passion with every fiber of your being. There was a song called Disco Inferno, and the tag line was “Burn, baby Burn”. I’m not sure what they were talking about, but when it comes to the flame inside of you, the flame of passion you have for your dream, I say “BURN, BABY, BURN”! Let nothing extinguish your flame of passion. It may take time. It may take sacrifice. It may take you leaving your comfort zone, but if you want it, go get it and let that passion BURN, BABY, BURN! There will be people that will tell you it can’t be done, shouldn’t be done, or it is not expedient or beneficial for you to even do. Instead of accepting their word as the final authority, make the decision yourself! Imagine if the person that invented the air conditioner gave up. How hot would it be during those steamy summer days? What about the person that invented ice cream? Everyone thought Ford was crazy with the idea of the horseless carriage. All of these things we now enjoy and think nothing about it, but each person had a passion to do something and they got it done. I have discovered people fall into two simple categories in my life; help and hindrance. I have discovered that someone against me can actually spur me on to prove them wrong, and someone that claims to help me can actually slow me down with their desire for me to do things the way they would. Let others live their dream and pursue their passions.
When you know what you want, go for it. Do the research, do comparative analysis on the best way to fulfill your passion, but let that passion flame “BURN BABY BURN”. Afraid your flame is flickering because it has burned so long with no additional fuel. Afraid your dream life is unobtainable, unreachable, or just not realistic? We all want to live a healthy life, but there just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day to fulfill our responsibilities and get our optimum workout in. We have work, after work activities, maybe even a spouse or children; things that are important but also consume our time. I have learned it is not so much about the quantity of the workout, but the quality. I have seen people spend hours in the gym and come out looking worse than when they went in. You’ve seen the type. They spend more time taking “selfies” or taking 30 minute breaks in between every 2 repetitions of an ankle rotation exercise. When the finally leave the gym, still looking like they were going on an errand, fresh from the shower, versus the gym, they go to a fast food place, order the left side of the menu and a Green tea, (loaded with sugar of course) to be healthy. I have learned making simple changes in your life can lead to a healthy life. I hate running, but I don’t mind walking. I park a little further from buildings to get some extra walking or “steps” in. I have a goal for the day, the week, the month, to get a certain amount of “steps” in. This may not be the answer for everyone, but small adjustments (in whatever works for you) cause minimal inconvenience and can lead to maximum gains. You see the small steps can lead to bigger changes, and before you know it, the quantity of time is not as important as the quality. I have seen people watch their diet and only spend about an hour in the gym 3-5 times a week. They look good and feel good, but you see, they make every moment count. They take the stairs, instead of the elevator, whenever possible. They opt for the healthier choices at meal time, or pre-pack their meals to know what they are actually eating. The park a little further from the building to get their steps in. They choose water instead of Cokes. The path to a healthy purpose driven life begins with the first step. What are you waiting for? The New Year is only about 180 days away, and usually after the summer ends, New Year resolutions began to consume the forefront of our mind. We didn’t look how we intended this year, so we purpose in our hearts to spend more time working out, eating right, and being healthy. Sometimes this “resolution” is spurred by a dreaded doctor visit, where we are told we have to start taking better care of ourselves. We know we “should”, but there are a lot of things we “should” do. We should clean the house. We should pay our bills. We should spend time with our significant other so they never have to wonder if they are loved and appreciated, but should is not the same thing as must. Until we shift our thinking about fitness from “should” to “must”, we will always have excuses as to why it is not done. We are all given 24 hours every day and how we use that 24 hours is based on our priorities.
We would not take a car and not take care of it, yet hoping it will start when we are ready to go. Why do we fail to give the same attention to our mental and physical health? Periodic maintenance on a car you depend on for transportation, or a house you depend on to live in is not a “should” but a “must”! The same thing goes for fitness; if you want to live a life of purpose on purpose, then you need to make sure your body, mind and soul are operating at peak efficiency for you. We often take things for granted and seldom stop to reflect on what we have to be grateful for. We live in a world where we constantly look at what we don’t have, have not achieved, and have yet to go or do. Perhaps we should look back on what we have accomplished so far, the storms we have weathered and the places we have been; not so much as what we have not done, but what has been done on our life list. When we refuse to lament the mistakes of the past, we can then appreciate our moment in time in our present. The idea that maybe a few years ago you dreamed about owning a car; we now own one; may not be what we want, but we have transportation now. Something to be grateful for. We may not own our dream home, but we are not homeless; and that’s something to be grateful for. We may not eat at the finest eating establishments, but just the other day we were saying how we need to go on a diet; something to be grateful for. It is easy to find reasons to complain, and it takes more muscles to frown than smile. Why not use the economy of muscles and smile as we look at the birds in the air. We have sight and can see the majestic birds as they are lifted in the air. Our complaints can lift us higher and spur us to greatness. We feel the wind on our face. That means the sensation of touch is still active in our lives, so we can breathe life and touch someone else’s life with a kind word or gesture. There are so many things to be grateful for; if nothing else, you no longer think defeat and now proclaim victory over every facet of your life. There is one thing about scars we often forget; the time of the injury hurt, and may mar our flesh, but we survived, and if we survived once, we can again; something to be grateful for. There is an old saying, which tells us we are what we eat. A contemporary version speaks to the idea of garbage in, garbage out. Conversely, if you consume things that are healthy, then your health is improved. This begs the question, what are you feeding your mind and soul. Are you ingesting a constant diet of negativity, pessimism and doubt, or a healthy diet of positivity, optimism and hope. Many times a first look at a situation is not the correct view of that situation. Many times a hopeless situation actually has elements of hope if you search for them. A storm cloud may bring destruction, but the rain can bring healing to an area ravaged by drought. Who do you allow to speak into your life? Do you allow those that are trying to help you be the best version of you, or those that down you so they can feel as if they are the best version of themselves? If you live a life where you allow people, places and things to bring toxicity to your mind and soul, you will live a life full of toxins. When you seek people, places and things to pour healing, hope, and yes, even sometimes tough love into your life, you will find you have the impetus to reach new hopes, achieve new goals and be all you can be, as you aim high, enjoying this great adventure called life. As we watch our diet for our bodies, we must also watch our diet for our mind and soul. Who feeds you and who do you need to cut from the list of places you can spiritually eat. When you expect things bad to happen, someone can tell you, you have just won a million dollars and you will worry about the taxes. When you expect good things to happen, you look forward to the positive things that can be done. Yesterday is the past. Tomorrow is the future. Today is now….ENJOY IT TO THE FULLEST!
No one has ever been able to accurately measure the speed of a thought, as it differs with each person. One thing that accounts for the difference is the internal and external barriers a person may have. A person, who has been taught their whole life they are worthless will find it hard to believe they have worth. A person who believes nothing but bad happens to them will find it hard to believe anything good can come their way. This means the thought of something good will take longer to reach a person predisposed to receive bad news. The opposite spectrum dictates a person used to the good will look for a good in what others may perceive as a bad situation. A flat tire is just a tire that needs air, or a chance to replace one with better trade to be safer. A bad relationship is discovered early before so much emotionally investment is made it would cause an emotional bankrupt if more time had passed. A person must always live in the present moment and not let the past control what they do in the present. Being mindful allows you to draw from the experience of the past to make intelligent choices in the present to help you achieve the future you desire. Be in the moment and look for the good, even the worst situation can have good attached….IF WE ARE MINDFUL! What is Your Excuse for Not Living Your Life to the Fullest? Are you living the life you have desired and dreamed of, or the life others have desired and dreamed for you? If you are not living the life you desire, then why are you letting others live a life of purpose through you? Take control of your life. Live a life focused on your own dreams, goals and aspirations. When you live a life of purpose, you are living a life of focus. A life of focus allows you to see past the obstacles and see the opportunities to overcome. To peer past the problems and perceive a plethora possibilities, with the hardest decision being what works best for you. AS YOU FOCUS YOUR LIFE ON YOUR PURPOSE, your life becomes driven by your purpose and each day moves you closer to being all you can be, and doing all you desire to do. What should your purpose be? You decide and START LIVING YOUR LIFE OF PURPOSE ON PURPOSE! The difference between being on life support and living on your own is life support helps you exist while living on your own helps you go beyond existing. The toughest people many have to make is when to end life support, but there is solace in knowing their loved one would rather live life to the fullest than just exist on a machine. What is your excuse for not living life to the fullest? Many people are on emotional life support; life setbacks, finances, relationship issues, the list is endless, but how has these things stopped you from living life to the fullest. There is an old saying about how a person who was sad they had no shoes until they saw the man who had no feet. You may not have the life you desire, but don’t let that stop you from seeking your heart’s desired. Despair and discouragement can’t beat you unless you are not willing to fight for your dreams, goals and hearts desires.
