In most world religions, you will find a cautionary admonishment to be cognizant of what you are allowing into your consciousness, i.e., what you watch, hear and experience. The premise behind this thought is the external stimuli we receive contributes to the formation of our worldview, which shapes our mindset. If we receive continuous negative feedback, we will tend to think of things in a negative way. When we receive positive feedback, the same holds true. There is also the idea of mental debris. These are the things that are neither positive or negative but takes up space needed to propel us towards our hearts desires. When we limit the negative, and accentuate the positive we can develop a mindset geared towards success. This is not saying everything is fairy dust and unicorns. This is saying instead of looking at situations as obstacles, see them as opportunities to develop new solutions. Failure is can be used to tell us what not to do so we can focus on what needs to be done. Problems become potential breakthroughs. The battle for success begins in the mind, and you can dominate the battlefield if you ensure all things you receive in your mind are used to help you instead of hindering you from reaching your goals.
